Slipped quietly back to their Heavenly Father and son (Brian) together on July 22, 2024.

Bob and Diane met at a University of Utah football game where they both graduated with Bachelor degrees and it was love at first site. They were both avid University of Utah Fans and would attend games when possible; but nothing could top their passion for their beloved San Fransisco Giants. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 3rd 1977 with Elder Legrand Richards officiating the ceremony. They both lived a life of service to their community. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed his time volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America. Diane always had kind words, listening ears, treated everyone like family and always looked for the good in everyone.

Our fondest memories are the family outings to Hogle Zoo, Christmas lights at Temple Square and the candy windows and Santa at the downtown malls. We especially remember Dad's love of sheep jokes (BADDDDD) Dad Jokes, and both of their love of all animals. But their greatest love was for their Children and Grandchildren.

They are survived by their children: Robert (Katrina) Aamodt, William (LeighAnn) Aamodt, Melissa (Troy) Stout, Matthew Aamodt. Grandchildren: Morgan and Kaden Aamodt, Mason and Zoee Stout. Brother Victor L Checketts, Sisters: Pat (Paul) Boone, Peggy (Mark) Henrie. Proceeded in Death by Parents Vernal and Elaine Aamodt, Victor and Maragret Checketts, Sister Gayle Maria Checketts, Brother Richard Vernal Aamodt and Son Brian Lewis Aamodt.

Funeral Services will be held July 31st, 2024 at Noon Preceded by visitation at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located 1078 S McClelland Street Salt Lake City, Utah 84105. They will be laid to rest next to their beloved son at the Murray City Cemetery.
