I knew Bob when we were stationed at Great Lakes, IL and possibly at Orlando, FL while going through the Navy's training schools. We hung out together a lot and remember him telling me how much he loved Louisville and the correct way to pronounce it. He was such a gentle mannered guy who never seemed to let life anger him in any way. We also hung out with Phillip Manning who was also from Louisville. I believe Bob was an Electricians Mate and I think Phillip was a Gunners Mate. We lived in what was known as the '230' complex at Great Lakes; kind of an open style barracks with no doors on the rooms and was where sailors stayed before they started their "A" school. We spent time on working parties and ate together in the mess halls. I often wondered how he was doing and so saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family; he was a true gentleman!

Bob my friend I just thought I'd look you all up and see how you were doing as I have not gotten to see you all in all long time unfortunately. This truly Saddens me but I know you are at peace with our Heavenly Father. Love You My Friend !!!!! - John Clark

We are so very sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. He was sweet, kind and big hearted man, and he was like family. My family will always have a special place in our hearts for his love and help he gave to our elderly mother in her ailing years. Our prayers go up for his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed.
