Robert H. Allnutt (Bob) of Halifax passed away on January 6, 2026 at the wonderful age of 89. Born in Portsmouth, Va. to Mildred and Frank Allnutt, he later moved to Richmond, Va. where he met his wife of 63 years. In 1962 he married Paigie Puryear Allnutt , who was continuously by his side. He considered his greatest accomplishment as accepting Christ as his Lord and Saviour and being baptized in a pond in Prospect, Va. He afterwards attended Grace Baptist Church in Virgilina and didn’t mind giving you his own sermon if he felt you needed it.
Bob spent most of his earlier years working hard and providing for his family. He is particularly known for his ownership and operation of Halifax Auto Suppliers which he enjoyed for 36 years. He and Paigie were able to enjoy many trips while working but found joy in vacationing at Myrtle Beach after retirement. His favorite hobbies included exercising, mowing the lawn, reading, and traveling around to visit his family.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: Wayne Allnutt, Charles Allnutt ( both of Chesapeake, Va. ) and Thomas Allnutt of Oregon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Robert Allnutt, Jr (Lisa) of Wake Forest, NC and Stacey Goin (DeWitt) of Prospect, Va. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Ryan and Nathan Allnutt of Wake Forrest, Trevor (Emily) Goin of Mechanicsville, Megan Goin of Front Royal, and Brianna Goin of Prospect; and, one great grandchild: Witt Goin of Mechanicsville as well as another great grandchild on the way.
A private family service will be held in his honor. If you wish to remember Bob, the family ask for your prayers and that you do something special with your loved ones. The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the hospice team at 1st Care as well as to their friends and family members for their help and support, visits, and food drop offs.
