Robert C. "Bob" Anderson, 80, resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN, with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Duluth on May 20, 1945, to Volmer and Ruth (Ericson) Anderson. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1963 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Bob also proudly served his country in the US Army as a Hawk Missile Systems Radar Technician.
Bob was an entrepreneur and held various roles before becoming best known as an oil and gas industry professional, representing companies such as Great Lakes Gas Transmission, Wilbros Butler Engineers, Northern Border Pipeline, Precision Pipeline, and Enbridge.
He was active in his community, being a longtime time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon, the Lake Nebagamon Lion's Club, Wisconsin Conservation Congress, Acacia-Itasca Masonic Lodge #329: and in his younger years served his community as a Volunteer Firefighter and more recently Trustee and President of the Village of Lake Nebagamon.
Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Jacobson on May 15, 1965, in Oulu, WI. Together they raised three children and recently celebrated sixty wonderful years together.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish traveling to Alaska, Montana, Manitoba, and North and South Dakota. He loved splitting his time between their lake home in Lake Nebagamon and the family cabin he and his family built together. Bob was also a bit of a farmer; he enjoyed tending to his Angus Steers, planting food plots, and growing Sydney's Sweet Corn. Bob enjoyed his early morning gatherings with friends for coffee, where healthy debates were held, discussing local sports, the Packers and the Brewers, and solving all the world's problems. Most of all he adored his one and only grandchild, Sydney, cherishing every adventure they shared – from traveling the States to enjoying game nights at home with friendly competition. His love for her was immense. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barb; daughter, Sara Anderson; son, Volmer (Lori) Anderson; granddaughter, Sydney Anderson; sister, Linda Tisdell; brothers, Tom Anderson, Keith (Debbie) Anderson, and Jay Anderson; his special canine companion, Willow; along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; son Mark Anderson; brother Richard Anderson; sister-in-law Sandra Anderson; brother-in-law James Tisdell; niece Cheryl Brunner; and great nephew Anderson Fox.
A Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 1st Street North in Lake Nebagamon, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Katie Wagner and Darrell Kyle officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery immediately following the service.
