Dr Robert Anderson

1928 - 2025

Robert Andrew Anderson (Bob) passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 18, 2025, surrounded by family. He was able to participate in very nice celebrations of his 97th birthday a few days before, both virtually with his extended international family and in person with family and friends. His loving wife, Marcie, preceded him in death in 2019.

Bob was born in Corvallis and raised on a dairy farm in Alsea. He joined the Navy soon after WWII and graduated from Oregon Agricultural College (now OSU) before attending dental school in Portland and orthodontic school in Chicago. He was highly respected in the community as the first orthodontist in Corvallis. Bob was very healthy, playing tennis until he was 92, skiing and keeping his garden in great shape. He also loved walking in his fields and visiting the coast. His adventurous spirit also took him on multiple international trips, including to Australia and Alaska. Moreover, Bob loved music – he had a beautiful singing voice and accompanied himself on the guitar.

Bob was blessed with a loving family. He was happily married to Marcie for almost 70 years, and he was a good father to three children – Lynn (Ulrich), Daryl (Leslie) and Ron (Bonnie). Bob also enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren and lived to welcome many great-grandchildren. In his last years, he enjoyed the constant support and care of his children, especially Ron. He will be remembered with great love and fondness by his family and his many good friends.
