Robert Arthur Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Robert was born in McCords, Kent County, Michigan on November 10, 1929, to the late Ervin and Rena (Doezema) Arthur, and on January 15, 1955, he married Iris Boboltz. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob taught school and retired from the Fowlerville Community Schools in 1990. He attended St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a member of the Optimist Club of Alpena.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Iris; 2 daughters, Jill (Kevin) Barry, Heidi (Stephen) White; 5 grandchildren, Kate Barry, Meg (Tony) Barry-Yother, Beth Barry, Taylor White, Madison White; siblings, Darlene Kienzle, Trudy Fent, Carol (Dick) Clavier, James Arthur, Gene (Wendy) Arthur; sister-in-law, Ann Arthur; several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Wiliam Arthur and Edward Arthur.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 2 p.m. until military honors by Alpena VFW Post 2496 at 5 p.m. and will continue at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church – Alpena on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Shipman officiating.
