Robert William Balsley, 68, of
Chesterfield, Va. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, doing what he loved, riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Houston and Patricia Elizabeth Balsley, Aunt Myrtle Oliver, Uncle Billy Simpson, as well as his sister, Rhonda Kay Finchum and his precious dog, Buddy.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Lynn-Balsley Lyons (Rob); and his grandchildren, Layla and Jordan Scaggs and Hunter Lyons; as well as his dog, Duke.
He is also survived by his sisters, Theresa Garwood (Bobby), Kathy Balsley (Debbie), Sherron Prillaman (Sid) and Lenora Mullelly: brother-in-law, Boyd (Boogie) Finchum; aunts, Mariaelena Craig and Lee Stinson; nieces, Katelyn Cox (Brian), Shelby Truesdale and Casey Finchum; nephews, Shane Finchum (Adrianna) and Cody Finchum; great-nieces, Hayley and Starr; great-nephews, Rush and Michael Jr.; and his ex-wife, Donna Stewart (Kirk & Landon). He also leaves behind many cousins and extended family.
He had great love for his daughter, grandchildren and his endless circle of family and friends. He will be incredibly missed by his Chesterfield County Transportation family where he was a bus driver for 20+ years as well as his Sears family where he worked for 25+ years.
He loved hanging out with his friends at O'Tooles, Kickback Jacks, Shamrock and Sportspage. Bobby loved joking around and making people laugh and smile. He never met a stranger. He was always the first bike in line on rides and he will always and forever be the leader of the pack.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023 and 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. where a Celebration of his Life will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
