Robert Lee Barragan, age 81, of Grants Pass, died March 10, 2024 at his home.
Bob was born February 7, 1943 in El Paso, Texas to Jessie & Connie Barragan and grew up in San Francisco, California. For four years Bob honorably served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal deploying to Vietnam. He also served in the California National Guard as a Sergeant for two years. One of his last jobs was as a Postal Police Officer, retiring from the United States Post Office. He moved to Grants Pass 30 years ago.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Breda, for 43 years. They traveled extensively all over the world with their best friends. They visited many interesting places and met many wonderful people.
Bob volunteered as a firefighter. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a gun and ammo aficionado. He enjoyed target practice, hunting, and fishing. He loved his fur friends, Bentley & Roxie.
Bob is survived by his wife Breda Barragan of Grants Pass; sons Chris Barragan of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Anthony Barragan of Maricopa, Arizona, and Jerry King of Farmington, Minnesota; sister Jessica Barragan; and brother Rocky Barragan; six grandchildren; two beloved nieces; 1 nephew; and many friends.
Remembrances may be made in Bob’s name to Josephine County Animal Control.
Bob enjoyed a full life and was loved by many. He loved the Corps and his family.
His infectious laughter, kindness, and warmth will be missed by all.
God Bless Bob and we hope he finds peace on the other side.
A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., March 19, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church. A committal service with military honors will be at 3:00 p.m., March 19, 2024 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
