Robert M. Beam, Jr., 83, of Springfield, died at 10:54 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Regency Care.
Robert was born on October 9, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Robert M. Beam, Sr. and Helen Natalie Cummins.
Robert was a Springfield High School graduate. For 60 years, Robert worked as an automotive mechanic. He enjoyed woodworking and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas S. (wife, Rosemary) Beam of Springfield and many friends.
No ceremonies will be held.
Cremation will be provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

My prayers and sympathy to Tom and Rosemary on the loss of Bob. So many memories with my Dad, brother and me taking cars over to the Beams Garage. Good memories, good people, good friends through the many years. R.I.P. Bob. Prayers and strength for family.

Tom. I was so very sorry to read of Bobby's death last week. The Sommer/Beam family friendship has been a long standing relationship for many years. Bob and I were in the same class at Crackneck Grade School and I will remember his great artistic achievement on a white paper plate drawing titled the "sniffer". 0ur dads were two of the finest at doing almost anything back in the good days.
