OBITUARY
Robert Lee Bellamy, Jr. was born on July 5, 1951, in Tifton, Georgia, to the union of Robert Lee Bellamy, Sr. and Ruby Lee Bellamy. From an early age, Robert demonstrated a resilient faith, accepting Christ repeatedly throughout the many seasons and challenges in his life.
In his early adulthood, he united with Rehoboth Church of God in Christ, later fellowshipping with Philadelphia Church of God in Christ. He ultimately became a devoted member of Scott's Christian Outreach Center, where he was ordained as a Deacon. His commitment to ministry was evident through his service as a mission worker and his love for attending Sunday school. Robert was known for his generous spirit, his heart for helping others, and his ability to bring joy to those around him- often with a smile and a piece of candy from his pocket for the children.
Robert received his formal education at Lincoln High School and Rufus King High School. He continued his studies at Milwaukee Area Technical College, earning a certification in welding. He applied his skills professionally for many years, working with P.H. Harnischfeger and other companies as a general welder.
He was blessed with his first son, Albert Dwayne Charles, and later entered into holy matrimony with Joycelyn Jones. Their union was graced with three children: Robert Lee Bellamy III, Samotria Shauna Bellamy and Courtney Kenneth Bellamy. Robert found joy in simple pleasures-watching cowboy movies, listening to jazz, and cruising in his cherished Cadillac.
On September 3, 2025, Robert transitioned peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with illness. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and three brothers; Fredrick, Christopher and Craig.
He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy: his children-Albert Dwayne Charles of Atlanta, GA., Robert Lee Bellamy III, Samotria (Rodney) Matthews and Courtney Bellamy -all of Milwaukee, WI; his life partner, Cynthia Brown, his brothers-Anthony Bellamy of Honolulu, HI, and Jeffrey Bellamy of Temple, TX; his sisters-Deborah Christopher of Waukesha, WI, Elizabeth (Earl) Baldwin of Hampton, GA, Sheila (Travis) Paskell of Hot Springs, AR, and Dina Bellamy of Milwaukee, WI; two beloved great-aunts-Iola Bush and Bernice Davis; thirteen grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; his loving nephew and caregiver-Dominic Bellamy, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
Robert's life was a testament to faith, family and service. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
