Where do i start you have been in our family since i was 6 years old. I can't imagine not seeing u when we go to Arizona. Big Robert- i dont know what to really say but thanks you were one of many father figures i had in my life. i want to thank you for your little talks we had, about to be good to my mom who's your boyfriend now. oh we will miss you dearly . i seen you as my Uncle. I am truely saddened by the loss for the Bencomo family, and for me & everyone around him who didn't get the opportunity to say goodbye I pray that he knew how much he was LOVED & how much he will be MISSED. All the planning in the world, would not have prepared us for Robert's unexpected death. He was part of my family, even if we weren't blood related, I saw him & knew him only as family...he was my cousin who I looked up too. Because he was a great husband & a great father and I know that takes a great man to be both.

I am still waiting to wake up from this nightmare...this can't be happening! Robert was one of the most genuine and sincere people I knew. He always greeted me with a big smile and a big "HOLA"! He was always there for all of us; no questions asked, we knew we could count on him for anything! As I sit here thinking back on all the family gatherings and holidays we all spent together I can't think of a single one that does not involve Robert; a big void has been left in all of our lives. Robert, thank you for being you, I am going to miss you so much, everyone keeps saying you are in a better place but the selfish part of me wishes you were still here with us. Rest in peace now my cousin; please know that Deanna, Aileen, Robert, Joleen and Rudy will be taken care of, we will all make sure of that!

I'm sitting here thinking of what to write to you, and the more i think the more tears and anger come out of me, because you're not here for me to tell you how lucky i was to have you pick me to be your compadre to your first child. COMPA i am grateful you picked me. Becoming a compadre matured me into taking responsibility in trying to bring up Aileen to become a strong mature young lady as she is today. I love her like my own.............God why did you take my compa from me?! We were supposed to hangout til' we were a 100 years old. Telling the same stories and laughing about them over carne asada and pisto. And now that he's gone my heart has an emptiness in it that can only be filled in again from the man that filled that spot when he asked me to be his compa. My Nino. Someone my parents chose for me to be MY GODFATHER. Someone who touched my life. The cards, calls, visits we shared to one another were precious even if they were short. The hours seemed to turn to days and the days turned into months. I would wait to see him and enjoy every moment i had talking with him about anything. He was a source of love and happiness to my family and I. I love him so much, words and tears couldnt show or describe how much pain i have in my heart. I have this heavy feeling deep inside my throat and it seems to not go away. I have been stripped away of good people in my life before, but nothing can compare to how devastating this event has had on me. I remember his soft eyes, jokes that would remind me just...... of my own father, and most importantly his smile. I know he is in Heaven and I love and know he belongs there. With all my mind, body, and soul do I mean everything i have said. I love you Nina, Aileen, Robert, Joleen, and Rudy. Stay strong and remember he will ALWAYS LOVE YOU.

We didn't have the opportunity to meet you but when my cousin came to California to visit, I could tell she was happy. I met your children and you have a really beautiful familly. It speaks volumes when you see a couple stay together for 23 years and it attributes to what kind of man you were, you were there for your family. I have talked to Deanna more this year than I have in a long time, as children we were really close and our families spent a lot of time together.
