Robert Bensman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 10, 2025.
Bob Bensman, age 73, passed away on January 6, 2025. Born June 19, 1951, in Cleveland, OH to Herbert and Elizabeth Bensman. Beloved husband of Linda Srneck. Brother of the following deceased: David, Donald, Joan Lucek, and Linda Bensman. Cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews who truly loved him, especially Stephen, Michelle, Donald, James and Christine. Brother-in-law to Audrey and David Overholt.
Bob loved to make people laugh and was the life of the party. He had a way of making people feel at ease and had a comforting presence. He had a zest for life and gracefully navigated both success and tragedy. Bob was a man of extraordinary spirit, known for infectious smile and unwavering positivity. As a true visionary and brilliant business man, he touched the lives of many through his creativity, insight, and wisdom.
Bob was a forward-thinking entrepreneur that owned Ver-A-Fast for 39 years, started By The Hand Foundation with Cathy Soprano in 1995 and invented and patented the TeleZapper – a device that blocked unwanted calls. He was also part-owner of several other successful companies.
Bob strived to be successful but knew ones true worth is not measured by the car you drive or the money in your bank account, but by how easily you can find peace of mind and how much joy you share from your heart with others. Whether in business or in his personal life, his innovative ideas and passionate energy inspired those around him to strive for greatness and approach each day with an open heart.
He was a man who believed in the power of kindness, always offering a helping hand and listening ear to those in need. His generosity, both in thought and action, set a remarkable example for his family and friends. Above all, Bob was a guiding presence who brought strength and unity to his family.
His life was a testament to the importance of living with purpose and joy, and he will forever be remembered for the energy and light he brought into the world. Though he no longer walks among us his spirit and lessons he imparted will continue to guide us through every challenge and triumph. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with integrity, class, wisdom, laughter, and love.
His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him, especially by his wife, Linda, and his nieces and nephews, their children, and his longtime friend, Cathy. As we reflect on his remarkable life, we are reminded of the many ways he enriched the lives of those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on January 27, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, OH. Celebration of Life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ames Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH, 44145.
