Robert "Bob" James Benwell, Sr. died suddenly at his home on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. He was born on December 16th, 1948 in Franklin and was a lifelong resident.
In a time before cell phones, if you couldn't find Bob on a roof or painting, one had to look no further than the local lunch counter where he always in conversation with someone. He was known as a storyteller and was not afraid to say things as he saw them. Maybe the one exception to using his gift to gab would be during BINGO for he needed to hear the caller. It was a favorite activity he enjoyed with his wife of 50 years, Eleanor.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Eleanor in 2020, their daughter Sharon and grandson Eric. He was also predeceased by his parents, Frank and "Blanche" Redfield, his brothers, Pete, Richard, and Frankie, and sisters Mary and Linda.
He is survived by his son, Robert J. Benwell, Jr., and daughter Susan Benwell. Also survived by siblings Joyce, Patty, Wanda, and Sandra as well as many grand and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews to which he was known as "Uncle Bobby."

Interment will be at Franklin Cemetery on July 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
