Robert F. Beran

Mr. Robert F. Beran, of Waltham, died Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 74. Robert was born on August 26, 1946 in Waltham a son of the late Frank and Barbara (Shedd) Beran. A lifelong Waltham resident he married Kathleen A. Martin on April 30, 1983 in Saint Mary's Church. As a young boy he carried a paper route for many years and then worked for American Fundraising Company and lastly for over 20 years in maintenance at Waltham Hospital before retiring. He will be remembered as a real family man who loved being 'Pop Pop' to his two grandchildren. An avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan he also had affection for old-time television programs. In addition to his wife of 38 years, Kathleen, he leaves their daughter, Amanda G. Dix (William) of Essex; his grandchildren, William and Breanne Dix; his sisters, Janet S. Connors (late Robert) of Waltham and Debra E. Sneider (Harry) of Framingham; in-laws, Colleen Martin of Plymouth, Gerard Martin of Lowell, Thomas Martin (Tricia) of Brockton, James Martin (Linda) of Wells, Maine, Maureen Spencer (Mark) of Marlborough and the late Timothy (late Cindy); his aunt, Helen Barber (late Richard) of Marlborough; many nieces & nephews. Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, June 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Monday morning where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
