Robert L. Berek, 75, of Beebe Road, Irving, died Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 in the Town of Hanover. He was born in Dunkirk on March 14, 1947, the son of the late Robert T. and Bernice (Rusinowski) Berek.

Robert was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1964 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a Barber. He worked as a Truck Driver for Pro Oil, Inc. Silver Creek, for approximately 19 years. Robert was a former member of the Silver Creek Firemen's Club, Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472, First Ward Falcon Club of Dunkirk and many other organizations.

He was an avid outdoorsman- enjoying duck & goose hunting, being and advocate & mentor to younger hunters, raising hunting dogs, and doing woodworking & carving decoys. Robert was an avid Yankees fan, which his father was scouted by, and an avid Bills & Sabres fan. He especially enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include his wife Kathy S. (Lesinski) Berek of Irving, whom he married on December 25, 1999, in Forestville, three sons Andy (Traci) Berek, of Angola; Brian Berek, of Mt. Morris, NY; Eric (Sara) Botticello, of Forestville; a daughter, Jennifer Botticello, of Fredonia; two brothers, William (Diane) Berek, of Dunkirk; Eugene Berek, of Austin, TX; and a sister, Nancy (Fred) Borowski, of Florida. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Arian Berek, James Berek, Emily Berek, Bryan Berek, Joshua Botticello, Jessica Smith, Lili Botticelli, two great grandchildren; Braydin & Noah Berek and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother Genevieve (Cybart) Berek.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at 1 o'clock at the Silver Creek Firemen's Club, 23 Jackson Street, Silver Creek.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Hanover Fish & Game Club- Youth Programs, 780 Overhiser Road, Forestville, NY 14062.
