I had the honor of meeting Mr. Berndt a few years back at a holiday gathering at my brother and sister-in-law's, Andy and Shannon. We enjoyed watching football on TV, and good food. I'm keeping Mr. Berndt, his family and friends in my heart and prayers.

I see your on your way to heaven to get your wings buddy and we´re going to miss you. I think about all the laughs we had in the mine and the OMI bar in Creede, (GOOD TIMES)! Save all your old friends a place up there. It´s hard to believe but it won´t be long before the rest of us come to be with you.
