Robert Bissonnette

Robert Bissonnette, 90, of Hooksett, died November 28, 2016 at his home after a period of declining health. He was born in Lancaster, MA on December 10, 1925 to Aime and Marianne (Couture) Bissonnette. He grew up in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada and moved to Manchester in 1960 where he lived until moving to Hooksett 11 years ago. Robert worked as a glazier at Demers Plate Glass Company in Manchester for many years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Manchester where he was an altar server and a minister of hospitality. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of Precious Blood and had volunteered at Catholic Medical Center in the parish nurse program. Robert had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and traveling. Along with his wife, he made several pilgrimages over the years. He especially cherished time spent with his family. He was predeceased by his parents; his step father, Philippe Tanguay; a son, Alain Bissonnette and three siblings, Claudette Tanguay, Liana McMahon and Jean-Paul Tanguay The family includes his wife of 68 years, Gerardine (Auger) Bissonnette of Hooksett; seven children, Daniel and his wife, Mona, of North Hampton, Joane Gandy and her partner, Mike Rhodes, of Pembroke, Maryse Charbonneau and her husband, Daniel, of Hooksett, Pierre and his wife, Cindi, of Londonderry, Jean and his partner, Dr. Kristie Ferreira, of Guilford, CT, Paul and his wife, Lorrie, of Weare and Michele Hanson and her husband, Karl, of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Bissonnette and her partner, Rich Jalocha, of Hooksett; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Brent and her husband, Bill, of Goffstown; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Home Health & Hospice Care for the loving and dedicated care they provided to Robert over the last year. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
