Robert Bitz Obituary
Augusta, Maine - Robert (Bob) W. Bitz, 92, of Augusta, Maine, passed away in his home on December 20, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1933, devoted son to Annie (MacKenzie) Bitz, and William Bitz.
Bob was the husband of the late Dorothy (Mehegan) Bitz. He is survived by his children William Bitz and his wife Dolores of Rockwall, Texas, Robert Bitz of Ball Ground, Georgia, Brian Bitz and his wife Ellen of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and Cathleen Cookson and her husband Kevin of Augusta, Maine.
Bob leaves 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bob was born in Milton, Massachusetts, and lived in Walpole, Massachusetts for many years before moving to Hamden, Connecticut with his wife, later moving to Augusta, Maine.
Visiting hours will take place at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta, Maine from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2025. The funeral mass will be January 8, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Avenue, Augusta, Maine at 10:00 a.m., with the burial to follow.
