Robert “Bob” Burgess, 69, of Fremont, passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 26, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 14, 1956, to Raymond and Margaret (Moran) Burgess. Bob was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in West Jefferson Hills, PA. He dedicated 50 hardworking years in sales to Bearing Distributions Inc., and finally retired in April of 2024.On August 27, 1983, he married Ginger Flowers in Elizabeth, PA, and they celebrated 41 years of marriage before his passing.
Bob is remembered for his faith and was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Fremont. An avid golfer and fisherman, Bob also found great joy in spending time outdoors, whether it was on the greens or by a tranquil lake, creating beautiful memories with family and friends. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family. Whether gathered for holidays, celebrations, or simple moments of joy, Bob’s love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ginger Burgess; children, Robert “Rob” (Samantha) Burgess, Ryan J. Burgess, all of Fremont; grandchildren, Fiona, Ryleigh and Jace Burgess; brothers-in-law, Matt Vellky of Glassport, PA, Mike (Joyce) Pilyih of Pittsburgh, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond, Paul, Carol Vellky, and John.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont, Ohio on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM. For those unable to attend, live-streaming of Bob’s services will be available by following the link provided on his obituary page.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 709 Croghan Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
