Obituary
Robert "Bob" Joseph Long, age 75, of New London, MO passed away at 3:30 pm Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Grand View Funeral Home. Pastor Devin White will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation celebrating Bob's life will be held at 1:00 pm until the time of service at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Robert was born on July 14, 1950, in Hannibal, MO the son of Ilene Elizabeth Tresch.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Priscilla Booth on November 20, 1971, in Hannibal, MO. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2013.
Survivors include a sister, Connie Parker (Jose Martinez) of Dallas, TX; brother, James Johnson of Hannibal, MO; nieces, Pilar M and Ashley A: and Suzan Mack; nephew Kenneth Booth; best friend, Shara Durst; one great niece and two great nephews; and his loving companion's "Molly" and "Denver" and a host of great friends.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his wife and mother.
Bob worked as a Deputy Sheriff back in the 70's and later worked as a jack of all trades from a mechanic, small farming, electrician to handyman. Bob had recently worked at Lowes as a sales associate.
Bob was a lover of animals and was a member of the Komondor Club of America. In his free time, Bob enjoyed tinkering with anything with a motor, taking his mules on trail rides and catching up with all his friends on the things happening around the area.
Bob was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Pallbearers will be Charles "Chuck" Booher, Dave Miller, Larry Failor, William Failor, Rich Arnold and Chad McAfee.
Memorial contributions may be made to the NEMO Humane Society, in care of the Grand View Funeral Home.
