Robert “Bob” Malinka, 64, was born March 12th, 1961 in Rochester, NY. He passed away surrounded by family on June 9th, 2025.
Bob graduated from John Marshall High, class of 1980. He worked at Eastman Kodak for 20 years as a chemical operator. He heroically beat cancer several times. His hobbies included golfing, vacationing (particularly on Hilton Head Island), spending time with friends and family, poker nights with his buddies, collecting coins, and other extracurricular activities.
He is predeceased by his parents, Francis and Diane Malinka; siblings, Kathy (Bob) Metro, Thomas Malinka, Patrick (Mary) Malinka and Michael (Laurie) Malinka. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan Malinka; loving children, Abigail (Erick) VanWycke, Marjorie (Brandon) O’Neill, Brian (Angela) Bates, and Michael (Katie) Bates; grandchildren, Henry and Bennett Bates; brother, Frank (Marilyn) Malinka; sister, Mary Ellen (Andy) Britt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends he considered family.
His inquisitive nature, playful sense of humor, and larger than life personality will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will take place at Braddock Bay Park Thursday, June 19th at 4:00 pm, where we will share our cherished memories of Bob.
