Robert Allen Stowe Sr., age 81, of Sioux City, IA, passed away on May 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Robert, known as Bob, was born on September 17, 1943, in Sioux City to Vernon and Marie Stowe. Bob was a devoted caretaker to his beloved wife Donna of over 60 years, a proud father, and grandfather. An inventor at heart, he was always tinkering, problem-solving and coming up with creative solutions for everyday problems. He also had a deep love for adventure—whether it was hunting, fishing, biking, building or flying ultralight aircraft, roller skating and traveling with his wife. Bob embraced life with curiosity and courage. He was a skilled craftsman and hand built two of their family homes and even digging the well by hand with a post hole digger. He also carved several wood carvings over the years. He led an exciting life surviving two ultralight airplane crashes and a near electrocution by a static generator he built in the living room.

He is survived by his spouse Donna; children Pam (Forrest) and Rob/Bobby Jr. (Kim); brothers Ray and Charlie; sisters Alice, Delores and Judy; grandchildren Kimberly, Chase, Bryce, Autumn, and Amber; and great grandchildren Anna, Emma, Jaden, Cy and Sam.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Marie Stowe; brothers Larry Stowe and David Stowe; sister Lenora (Lena Mae) Stowe; and grandson Kyle Heck.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:30 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City. Following his burial at Calvary Cemetery, family and friends are welcome to gather for a luncheon at Bob and Donna Stowe’s home in celebration of Bob’s life. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
