Robert “Bob” Joseph Borchers passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Born on June 4, 1942, in Sidney, Ohio and raised in Fort Loramie, Ohio, Bob was the son of Mary (Ritter) and Joseph Borchers. Bob was a varsity basketball and baseball player and achieved the honor of an Eagle Scout.
He pursued his education at the Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1965. His career began at Ohio State’s student health center as the Director of Pharmacy. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Cornerstone Pharmacy in 1978. Through his expertise in compounding medicine and his deep commitment to helping others, Bob grew the business into a trusted community institution.
On August 13, 1966, Bob married Jennifer Lucille Coppage at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio. Together, they raised three children: Robyn, Kristin, and Jeff.
He was a loving husband and father, an avid fisherman and a huge Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. A man of immense Catholic faith and great integrity, his generosity overflowed to others. He enjoyed his time with the St. Peter Knights of Columbus and Singing Buckeyes Chorus.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Ritter) and Joseph Borchers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer; his children Robyn (Larry) Beal, Kristin (Kevin) Kirby, and Jeff (Betsy) Borchers; his seven grandchildren, Mackenzie and Evan Beal, Christopher and Sierra Kirby, and Mary, Eva, Allie Borchers; and his sister, Judy (Richard) Beck, and brother, Ted (Kay) Borchers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home,10051 Brewster Ln, Powell, OH 43065.
Memorial Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd, Columbus, OH 43235.
Immediately following the Mass, the family invites friends and family to a celebration luncheon at the church in the blue room.
