Robert Borglund Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skinner Funeral Home - Cumberland on Jan. 5, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Borglund, 81, of Cumberland, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was born May 7, 1944, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to Robert and Helen Borglund. The family later moved to North St. Paul, where Bob graduated from high school before serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Bob was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. His ventures included a construction company, A Touch of Christmas in Cumberland, operating the Cumberland Beach concession stand, selling Mexican pottery as "Pedro," co-owning the Silver Dime Laundry with Gary Vig, and running a lawn care and snow removal business. He built a cabin and made Cumberland his home in 1975.
Bob was an accomplished world traveler, aviator and adventurer, living life to its fullest. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, driving his vintage Corvette, playing the lottery, and Saturday morning breakfasts with the guys. He was the founder of the No Dicks Tournament, a devoted cat lover, a White Castle connoisseur, and enjoyed life on Beaver Dam Lake with friends and family. Known for his kindness, generosity, and humor, Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cheryl "Hope" Borglund. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; his daughter, Jessica (Dustin) Sutton; granddaughter, Emilia; brothers, Brent (Lois), David, and Gary; and many nieces, nephew, relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
