Retired advertising art director and television producer Robert J Bouterse, dies at 93.

Robert J. Bouterse 93, of Danville Indiana died August 12, 2018 in Hendricks County Indiana. He was born May 31, 1925 at St. Annes Hospital, in Chicago Illinois. Robert was the son of Robert L. Bouterse and Grace (Bouterse) Lyness, and was the step son of Carl L. Lyness.

Robert was the devoted husband of the late Martha J. (Hendrickson) Bouterse, and the late Caroline L. (Hiemstra) Bouterse.
He was the beloved father of his daughter, the late Vera J.(Bouterse) Jagielski, and surviving sons Donald L. Bouterse, William T. Bouterse, Robert A. Bouterse, and the proud and loving grandfather to Sara Jagielski, and Anne (Jagielski) Seveska. Robert was the devoted brother of the late Donald J. Bouterse, and step brother to the late Carl V. Lyness. He was also a loving step brother to, and is survived by his sisters Dorothy (Lyness) Brink, and Ann (Lyness) Herrera.

Robert was an accomplished fine artist. Painting in Watercolors, Oil Painting, and Pastel Painting. His creativity knew no bounds. In addition to his Painting he was a fine cabinet maker, inventor, and sculptor.

Beyond Roberts fine art pursuits, Robert had a long and accomplished career in advertising and television production. Giving his artistic skills to commercial illustration, and graphic design. Robert headed art direction at several major advertising agencies in Chicago, New York, and Detroit, including J. Walter Thompson, Wade Advertising, BBDO, and Solomon Advertising. Besides his accomplishments as an art director Robert was also a pioneering television and film producer. Robert entered the television production field in its infancy, and was credited with inventing many of the television production techniques still used today. Later in his career he helped create the video production department for Clark Equipment Inc, in Battle Creek Michigan.

Robert will be laid to rest, alongside Martha Jane Bouterse, in an informal grave side family ceremony at Wheaton Cemetery, Wheaton Illinois on August 31 at 11:00 am, memorial ID 38304570
