Robert Lavon Brooks Sr.

BROOKS, Robert Lavon, Sr., 84, a resident of Hope Hull, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 10:00 am from Catoma Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Golson officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with Prattville Memorial directing. The family will receive friends at the church one-hour prior to the service. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Lavon and Bertha Brooks; wife, Patricia Brooks; daughter, Debbie McClung; grandson, Robby Gorman; two sisters, Sue Wooten and Lois Montel. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Avalos; son, Robert L. Brooks, Jr.; four grandchildren, Joey Gorman (Amber), Shannon McClung, Meagan Avalos Connell (Cody) and Kaleb Avalos (Allison); 13 great-grandchildren, Brady Gorman, Jackson Dennis, Elizabeth McClung, Landon Connell, Brandon Connell, Ryleigh Connell, Wrenlee Connell, Kolby Avalos, Ellie Mae Avalos, Jamie Payne (John), Isaiah Gorman, Zoe Gorman and River Gorman; one great, great-grandson, Jacob Payne; two sisters, Donna Smith (Carl) and Jane Snyder (Jeff); two brothers, Mickey Brooks (Carol) and Johnny Brooks; extended family and friends. Pallbearers will be Joey Gorman, Brady Gorman, Isaiah Gorman, Kaleb Avalos, Cody Connell, Lester Pitts and Mike Gothard. Honorary Pallbearers will Landon Connell, Brandon Connell, Kolby Avalos, Jackson Dennis and River Gorman.
