Robert J. "Jim" Brown Obituary

Jim Brown 93, of Palo Cedro/Redding passed away peacefully on November 20,2025
Jim was born on July 27, 1932 in Valentine, NB. After graduating high school in 1950 he moved
to southern California. It was there he met his future wife, Nancy. They were married in 1955.
In 1970 Jim and Nancy moved their family to Palo Cedro, California where he resided until a
brief move to Redding.
Jim was retired having enjoyed a variety of occupations. He worked for Standard Oil Company
and owned his own service stations. Later he and his sons started Palo Cedro Rentals. Jim was
recruited to join the Palo Cedro Volunteer Department which lead him to a career as a
paramedic with Mercy Hospital.
Jim was an avid outdoors man enjoying skiing, backpacking and fishing. He loved his ranch in
Palo Cedro and enjoyed many hours working there also.
He is survived by his children Kathy Pearson (Charlie) of Lake Stevens, WA, Mike Brown (Gayle)
of Redding, Daniel Brown (Kimi) of Stevensville, MT. Granddaughters, Katie, Mindy, Amanda,
Michelle and Miranda and 4 greatgrandchildren. Sister Cheryl Chip of Richmond Hill, GA. Sister
in Laws Cleo Brown and Joyce DeWitt. Mike Keckta (son in law) of Redding, CA. Partner Dottie
Purdy.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Nancy and Daughter Lynette.
The family wishes to thank Oakmont Care facility for their love and care of our father.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for early 2026.
