Robert Bunting Jr.

Robert Bunting Jr. was the second child born to Effie and Robert Bunting on March 2, 1942 in Conway, Arkansas. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1956 where he attended Manual High School. Although he did not graduate, Robert's love for knowledge inspired him to later receive his GED on June 7, 1989 which was coincidentally the same day his daughter graduated from high school. Robert joined the Marine Corps in 1960 and served for 4 years. After the military he met and married Linda Greene in 1964, who just happened to be his brother-in-laws sister (brother and sister married brother and sister). Robert and Linda had three children: Rodney, Kevin and Nikki. Shortly after the birth of his last child Robert joined, accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under Pastor Acen L. Phillips. Robert was an extremely faithful worker inside and outside of the church. He worked for the City and County of Denver - Department of Public Works Traffic Engineering for 39 years until he retired in 2005. And Robert served as an usher for over 20 years. He could be found every Sunday standing at his post in his usher uniform. Robert often worked with the communion outreach ministry. While he was not working, Robert enjoyed listening to the Blues, playing cards, fishing and collecting antiques. In their retirement, Robert and Linda enjoyed traveling and spending time with their friends in the Golden Age Club playing Bid Whist. Robert went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2012. Those left to cherish his precious memory include his wife, Linda Bunting; Three children Rodney (Monet) Bunting of Aurora, Colorado, Kevin (Nikolle) Bunting of Denver, Colorado and Nikki (Jamal) Ward of Thornton, Colorado; One sister: Forestine (Alfred) Green. One brother: Leonard (Mary) Bunting; Six grandchildren: Chantelle Bunting, Kimberly Bunting, Jessica Yarber, Kevin (K.J.) Bunting, Kyle Bunting, and Jaedon Ward. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and in-laws.
