Robert J. "Bob" Burgunder

Robert "Bob" J. Burgunder, 97, of Shaler Township on August 24, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Grace (Mutzig) Burgunder. Father of Robert Burgunder, Jr. (Barb), Erin Klugh (Michael), Janice Bogatay, and the late Lisa Heupel (Ronald). Grandfather of Jennifer Bender (the late Ryan), Jason Klugh, Paige Bogatay, Austin Bogatay (Katelyn), Paul Heupel, Stella Cowfer (Westly), Clay Heupel, and the late Justin Klugh. Great grandfather of Jasmine, Lilly, Cole, Tyler, Adriana, Cameron, and Eliza. Dear Uncle to Richard Burgunder. He will be missed by many dear nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors. Bob was an avid gardener and well known for the beauty of his two-acre home and grounds in Shaler. The home was in the Burgunder family for three generations and where he spent his childhood farming. Bob was a life-time member of the Allegheny Country Rifle Club and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a faithful fan of the Steelers and Pirates. He was a skilled carpenter, known for his custom work and furniture. He was an artist with wood, but also with oils and has created many paintings reflecting his love of nature and wildlife. Deaf since age 18, military service was not an option, but he was a patriot who loved and supported America and its history. He was particularly devoted to Native America heritage and culture. He was very loved and will be missed by many. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 8 PM and Monday from 11:30 AM to12:30 PM with a celebration of life service at 12:30 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, or the Native American Connections at www.nativeconnections.org
