Robert Dale Burmania, age 86, of Lowell, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born on April 10, 1939, in Byron Center, the son of Simon and Martha (DeVries) Burmania. On January 1, 1992, he married the love of his life, the former Kathleen McNeil.
Bob served in the National Guard and was an active member of the Lowell United Methodist Church. He was proud of being a founding member of Woodhaven Church. Bob worked in several jobs over his life after earning his degree in accounting from Davenport University. He was a 3rd generation John Deere Dealer in Byron Center, a long-haul truck driver compiling 2 million miles and countless safety awards. Bob joined his friend in a remodeling company building a habitat house as well as many other homes. He worked for Atrium as a service representative for 5 states. Bob lastly worked at Saskatoon golf course serving in many roles for the company. Upon retirement he enjoyed raising sheep with his wife Kathleen.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors kayaking, biking, skiing and farming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen of Lowell; children, Laurie (Brian) Popma of Byron Center, Mike (Julie) Burmania of Middleville, Mark (Audrey) Burmania of Morley; stepchildren, Wendy (Brian) Justema of Belmont and Matthew Silverman of Lowell; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Maggie, Matt, Nick, Arron, Katie, Francine, Corey, Michael, Winnie, Wyatt, Levi, Liam, Quinn and Mannix; 10 great grandchildren and sister, Carole Isenhoff.
Robert was preceded in death by his stepson, Will Silverman, sisters, Joanne (Bob) Beaute, Mary (Jack) Walburg and brother-in-law, Stuart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at the Lowell United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, September 19th, from 4-7 PM at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac and one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Memorial Donations may be made to the family. Online Condolences can be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
