Robert Alan Bushy was born September 29, 1949 in Crookston, MN to Robert Jerome and Bernice Mae (Lussier) Bushy. Bobby grew up and attended school in Crookston until second grade when the family moved to East Grand Forks. There, he continued his education at Sacred Heart until joining the US Navy. On April 17, 1971, Bobby married Colleen Pagnac at Sacred Heart. They made their home in East Grand Forks and were blessed with two children, Mark Anthony and Sara Sue. Bobby was a beloved beer salesman for McKinnon Company for many years where he has remained friends with many of his former clients. Following retirement, he enjoyed slinging beer at the Alerus Center. He loved Harley Davidson's and enjoyed riding.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife Colleen Bushy of East Grand Forks; daughter Sara (Brian) Wurtzel of Warren; grandchildren Madeline Ann (Grant) Bergh of Warren, Jakob Robert Wurtzel (Lauren Glennon) of Grand Forks, and Brodie Gilgen and Sophie Colleen Wurtzel both of Warren; siblings Paulette (Robert) Larson of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis "Puck" Bushy of Moorhead, Larry (Steve) Benoit of San Francisco, CA, Michael (Jackie) Bushy of Moorhead and Pat "The Babe" (Kathy) Bushy of East Grand Forks; sister in law Carol Bushy of East Grand Forks, MN and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and friends who will be left to miss "Bobby The Beer Man."
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bernice Bushy, son Mark Anthony Bushy, brother Jerome Francis Bushy, sister and brother in law Elizabeth "Bebe" and Ronald Wilkens and parents-in-law Leo and Phyllis Pagnac.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are preferred.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 1:00 PM, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Bobby's page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com
VISITATION: 11:00 AM until time of the Mass at 1:00 PM also at Sacred Heart on Friday.
INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks, MN with Military Honors rendered by the East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157, VFW Post #3817 and the US Navy.
