My love and prayers to Linda and to each of his Children. Elbert and I knew Bob since High School as we all Graduated in 1952, were friends then. Later he married " Cousin Linda" and was part of our family!
Sorry I won't get to attend any of the services but will be thinking of you all.

My condolences to Linda and their family!
Bob was a wonderful neighbor always ready to help when needed. One of my fondest memories are seeing Bob and Linda sitting out on their swing under the big shade tree enjoying a cool summer breeze with Barney laying on the ground close by. Another is Bob and Barney coming down the street from a long walk. One time Barney was bringing home a rabbit in his mouth that he was not letting anyone have! Bob will be missed!

Bob was a great gardener and I remember one year he planted pole beans and Linda preferred bush beans. I got to pick several pole beans and canned them. He was always sharing the vegetables from the garden.
Always enjoyed having them for lunch on Sunday and he would compliment me on a fine meal.
Best brother in law!!

At the Edwards County Fair last night the son of one of Dad's teachers told us the story of how Dad pulled her over for speeding.
I had heard stories as a kid of how Bessie Burkett was his teacher at a one-room schoolhouse and would put on her overalls to play football with them at recess.
Her son told me she was 16 years old when she started teaching there and that year she got in a fight with a 21-year-old. She won.
Dad asked how she was and what she had going on and she gave him a laundry list of things she was doing that day but said she had a little bit of time to talk to him.
He said well that's not why I stopped you.
But as it turned out, he could not give his former teacher a ticket.
