Robert was born on October 26, 1944 to parents, Robert Lee Calvin and Maggie Ruth Davis, in Fort Worth, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army beginning in 1965. In 1966, he served in the 7th Special Forces Group, Airborne. He was Honorably Discharged from the US Army as SGT in 1971.
After serving in the Army, Robert began his employment at General Dynamics. He received recognition of over 34 years of Dedicated Service and Contributions to the success of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Quality Assurance. He retired from Lockheed Martin in December of 2001.
After deeply studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, Robert learned that the only way mankind can have peace on earth is not by war and military weapons, but by God's Kingdom. Robert developed a strong faith in this Bible truth, that it moved him to dedicate his life to Jehovah God as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 2003. He learned Bible principles that helped him make the needed changes to be a true friend of God. He learned to be patient, kind, and have self-control when dealing with others.
Robert's favorite scripture was Psalm 37:10,11; that the meek will possess the earth and enjoy life in the abundance of peace. Robert was convinced of these Bible truths. They gave him comfort and peace. During this time, Robert continued to dedicate his life to helping others learn of God's Kingdom and what it will do for mankind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Calvin and Maggie Ruth Davis; and eight of his siblings.
Robert is survived by two of his 10 siblings, Janice Carter and Ralph Carter; son, Robert Calvin (Michele); daughter, Felecia "Lisa" Mabry (Leamon); grandchildren, Neiman Calvin, DeAndre Calvin, Floyd Rogers, Quintin Calvin, Alicia Rogers, and Bryson Calvin; and great-grandchildren, Taylah Calvin, Tinsley Calvin, Laila Rogers, Lilo Rogers, Lolanie Rogers, and Ziyah Rogers.
