Robert Campbell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Omps Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Amherst Chapel on Jan. 2, 2026.
Robert William Campbell, 71, affectionately known as "Bob" or "CB," passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Stephens City. Born in 1954 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Harold and Annabelle Campbell and a graduate of Penns Manor High School.

Bob devoted more than 30 years of dedicated service to the Sheetz Corporation, retiring as a District Manager. He was a faithful member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church and lived his life grounded in faith, family, and friendship.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed golfing and was a member of Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal. He also loved fishing and hunting and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Above all else, Bob treasured time spent with his family-especially his grandchildren and his beloved "grand doggies," who brought him endless joy.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Andrea "Andi" Campbell; his children, Christina Martin (Adam), Sheena Talley (Jason), and Cory Campbell (Leighann); and his cherished grandchildren, Addison Payne, Mason Talley, Alayna Talley, and Dharma Martin. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Coy, Trish States, Deb Holby, Bonnie Mountain, Denise Altemus; his brothers, Tom, John, Charlie, Donald, and Scott Campbell; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Bob deeply loved God, his family, his wife's family, and all those blessed to know him.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Campbell, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and again on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Ron Potter officiating. Interment will be private.

Bob held many roles in my life. He was my boss, my mentor, my peer, and most importantly my friend. He left a lasting impact on me and taught me an invaluable lesson that I will never forget. He helped me navigate many HR challenges and no matter what the situation, he always made sure that the people involved knew that just because they made a mistake doesn´t mean that mistake defines them. His laughter and joy was infectious. I will never forget all the times he indulged what he called my "side quests" to help make our trips to Altoona more enjoyable. We sang Christmas carols at the top of our lungs driving through Lakemont Park, rode the funicular at Horseshoe Curve, and ate at every hole in the wall restaurant Altoona had to offer. My thoughts and prayers go out to Andi and his family.

I am so very sorry to learn of Bob´s passing. Although we only played golf together maybe 10 times, I feel like I´ve known him for most of my adult life. He was so much fun to be around and always had a big smile on his face.

The golfing community has lost a true friend & brother. Peace be with you, Bob, and God bless your entire family.
