Robert Caron Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 26, 2025.
Robert "Bob" Charles Caron, 89, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on November 20, 2025. Born in Elmsford, New York, Bob lived a full and hardworking life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family.

Bob proudly served his country in the Army and later, the Air Force, actively fighting in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the military after 20 years of honorable service. Following his military career, he became a master plumber and shared his expertise as an instructor at the Vo-Tech in Alexandria, Louisiana. Teaching was his passion, and he was especially cherished by the young men he taught, who admired not only his skill but also his witty humor and steady guidance. They lovingly called him Uncle Bob, a nickname that many knew him by.

After moving to Bossier City, Bob continued his commitment to hard work as the maintenance supervisor at the Northwestern State School of Nursing in Shreveport, serving there for 10 years before retiring for the third time. During retirement, Bob stayed busy mowing lawns, helping neighbors with odds and ends jobs, and visiting with friends.

Bob loved to cook, and whether he was frying fish, tending the barbecue pit at family gatherings, or cooking for his own family every Sunday, you could bet it was going to be the very best. He approached every day with grit and determination to live life to the fullest. His spirit, mischievous humor, and unlimited stories made people feel welcome and life a whole lot more fun.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Foster Caron, and was preceded in death by his son, Robert Caron, Jr. He leaves behind his children Cindy Caron, Timothy Caron, Rebecca Morgan, Joe Collins, and Carla McLaughlin, along with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
