Robert Lee Carter - age 92, passed away on January 12, 2026.
Loved by family and neighbors alike, he was a steady presence and could always be counted on for witty conversation. He was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, with four bronze stars, who was stationed in Europe and Asia during his 22-year military career. After retirement from the military, he worked at Swan Brothers Bakery for two decades before retiring from there. He will be greatly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucienne Suzanne (LeHouezec) Carter; parents, Howard Clifford Carter and Zetta Marie Carter; and his brother, Howard Conway Carter.
He is survived by children, Beatrice Carter, Howard Carter, Alain Carter, Jean-Paul Carter; grandchildren, Christine, Laura, Christopher, Jacob and Philip Carter; and great-grandchild, Savannah Carter.
Friends and family may call at their convenience to pay their respects from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Friday, January 16 at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard.
