Beloved son of Gail (Gary) Scherer and the late Robert T. Casper. Loving brother of Kip Caldwell, Kelly Casper, Michael Casper, Andrew (Alex) Bernardi, Keith (Sharon) Scherer, Kirsten Wise, and Kassandra (Dan) Houlihan. Fond father figure to Erika Rivera, whom he loved like a daughter. Caring godfather to Marino Bernardi and Kolton Scherer. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life Mass will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9:30AM at St. Theresa's Church, 455 N. Benton St, Palatine. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Robert's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to your local animal shelter. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home.
