Passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Bob was born March 8, 1940 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Glenn and Helen Townsend Cau.
He is also predeceased by his wife, Carol Howard Cau; siblings Patricia Conklin, Sharon (Clifton) Ray and Joyce Ray; sisters, Beverly Stellar, Marilyn Manwaring and brother, Thomas Cau.
Robert is survived by his daughters Jennifer Cau and Veronica (Kevin) Kastenhuber, and son, Robert Cau; siblings, June McMann; grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail (Zachary), Bobby, Megan (Austin), Nathan and Halle; great grandchildren, Mabel, Robert, Scout, Serenity and Piper; brothers-in-law, Frederick Ray, Chuck Stellar, Clarence Manwaring;
sister-in-law Roberta (Ronald) Estep and extended family members.
Bob served his country honorably with the US Navy and retired after 34 years from NYSEG as a Maintenance Machinist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and was a life time member of Erin Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to share the gospel of the Lord to all. He also loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and a love for Saint Bernards.
The family will welcome relatives and friends to Breesport Baptist Church, 1811 N. Chemung Road - Breesport, NY on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 11AM - 1PM. His Funeral Service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Doug Forman. He will be laid to rest at Scotchtown Cemetery with Military Honors immediately following. In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Bob please consider contributions to St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, 555 St. Joseph's Blvd., Elmira, NY 14901 in his memory.
