Robert M. Cermak

July 31, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Robert M. Cermak on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Also known as Bud-Bud, by his loved ones, and Skip, by his friends and colleagues.

Born in Jersey City, Robert was raised in Cranford before settling in Piscataway, eventually making his home in Bordentown, New Jersey, where he resided for the past 28 years.

Robert had an unwavering commitment to serve and protect others, a calling that led him to a long and distinguished career in law enforcement. He served as a Corrections Officer with the New Jersey Department of Corrections, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Over 25 years of dedicated service, Robert earned the respect and admiration of colleagues for his leadership, strength, and integrity.

Beyond his profession, Robert was an avid New York Giants fan and enjoyed spending time at the gym. But above all, his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his family. Robert was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, and a caring friend to many. He was the kind of person who would help anyone in need-strong, compassionate, and always ready to lend a hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 30 years, Gina Cermak, his cherished children, Christopher and Ericca Cermak and her fiancé, Sean McCormack, his loving parents, Bob and Kathy Cermak, and his dear sister Tracey Cermak and her partner Marc, Aunt Maureen (Godmother) and Aunt Patty, and many, many other loving family members. He will also be missed by his faithful dog, Bella Rose, and many treasured friends, neighbors and colleagues.

Robert's life was one of service, love, and deep connection. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and the strength and kindness he showed every day.

A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025, 12:00 pm at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of Service.
