Robert Charles Ayer, age 78, of Au Gres, MI died on March 13, 2026 at Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw, MI with his loved ones at his side. Robert was born the son of Glenn and Estebela "Betty" (Ramsden) on August 3, 1947. He was a graduate of Walled Lake Central High School in Walled Lake, MI. After graduation he joined the ARMY where he proudly served for three years. Robert was a tree trimmer for Davey Tree Service for many years before his retirement in 2009. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Robert married Catherine (nee Gregory) on December 12, 1970 and together they shared 46 years of marriage and raised four daughters all whom survive, Tammy (Jared) Belian, Tiffany McInally, Kathryn Ayer and Kimberly Reeves; five grandchildren, Jaxson Ayer- Williams, Jenna Belian, Jadyn Williams, Abigail Reeves and Sydney McInally, siblings; Jerry Ayer, Patricia Meyer, Sharon (Mike) Nagel, Sari Ayer, sisters – in – law; Diane Proper, Marsha Ayer and Kathy Ayer; many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine, son – in – law Michael McInally and siblings; Gene, Mark, Gary, Bill, Ronald, Russel, Lou and Shirley. Cremation has taken place, private family services for Robert will be held at a later date. Condolences may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com
