Robert Chester Obituary

Uncasville - Robert R. Chester, age 93, passed away peacefully Oct. 17, 2025.

He was born May 3, 1932, to Arlene and Frank Chester of Norwich.

Robert lived a long and full life marked by kindness, humor and an unwavering work ethic. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he carried his sense of duty and dedication into everything he did.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis; his children: Debra Coletta and husband James of Massachusetts, Randy Chester of Tennessee, Donna Bryant, Judy Chester and David Chester of Connecticut; and his stepdaughter Susan Creamer and husband Paul Hervieux, also of Connecticut. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will continue to carry his love and legacy forward. He was predeceased by his beloved son Gary; stepson William; and great-granddaughter Kaycee.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London. Please visit www.neilanfuneralhome.com to leave the family a online condolence.
