Robert Ciesla Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Marion Avenue Chapel on Jan. 23, 2026.
Robert Thomas Ciesla, age 87, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. He was born in Mansfield on May 13, 1938 to the late George & Thelma Crowfoot Ciesla.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1959, serving as a weapons specialist. After returning home from his military service, Bob immediately went to work for General Motors in Ontario, retiring in 1989 after 30 years of dedicated service.

In his free time you could find him in his garage working on cars or just tinkering on things. Bob always had to be doing something whether it be relaxing outside reading the newspaper, feeding the birds or just enjoying the outdoors. Most of all, he was a very generous and kind person, always willing to help someone with anything they may need. Above all else, time spent with his friends and family was of most importance.

Bob will be fondly remembered by his son, Rodney Ciesla; his sisters, Sandra (Jim) Carroll and Linda Counts; his brother, Richard Counts; his granddaughter, Josie Ciesla. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews and several extended family members and close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Howard and Patti Resar.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Mansfield Cemetery.
