Robert Concepcion Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home - Hudson on Dec. 18, 2025.
Robert Luis Concepcion, age 82, passed away on December 14, 2025. He was born on July 29, 1943, in Manhattan, New York. Robert was raised in New York City by his Mother Jean while his Dad served in the Navy during WW II and Korea. His Mother had plenty of help from many members of his large Sicilian family.

Robert dedicated more than two decades of his life to serving the City of New York as a member of the New York Police Department. He began his career as a patrolman in 1966, was promoted to detective from 1969 to 1973, and later retired as a Sergeant in 1987. He took great pride in his work and in the responsibility that came with protecting others. In 1972, Robert graduated magna cum laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a reflection of his determination.

After retiring from the NYPD, Robert moved to Florida, where he embraced a life he truly loved. He found happiness on the water, spending countless days on his boat. He lived a life of fun and adventure traveling, cruising with his girlfriend Jan, dancing and visiting friends and family.

Robert was the proud father of three children, grandfather to seven and great-grandfather to four. Time with his family and friends meant everything to him, and he treasured every gathering, conversation, and shared laugh. He loved to dance, laugh, and have a good time, and he had a way of bringing life into any room he entered. Robert will be remembered for his playful spirit, his infectious laughter, and his no-nonsense attitude.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Robert's legacy lives on through his family, his stories, and the many memories that will continue to be shared.
