Robert J. Conti of Riverside, NJ passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the age of 64. He was born on December 11, 1960 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Beverly (Knox) and Robert Conti of Old Bridge, NJ. Bob grew up and started his family in Edison, NJ before moving to Delran/Riverside NJ where they resided for the past 25 years.
Bob went to DeVry School of Technology and was employed over the years in the field of IT and warehouse operations.Bob spent many years coaching for the Edison Boys Baseball League leading many teams to championships. He loved coaching his children’s sports teams and umpiring throughout Burlington County.
Over the past 8 years he privately provided an out reach of Tuesday meals, bedding, toiletries and an ear to listen for some of the homeless population in Logan Square and University City, PA.Bob carried on his mother’s love for Rutgers Basketball and football; and was a fan of the NY Yankees, the Jets and the Green Bay Packers as well as NASCAR Racing.
He enjoyed the Jersey beaches from Sandy Hook to Cape May, spending time fishing, at Long Beach Island and walking the boards in Ocean City. Bob enjoyed hanging out with friends, vacationing, spending time with is family, Christmas Eve traditions and being a Pop Pop.Bob treated everyone as family and opened his house to anyone who needed it. Over the years he became a father figure to many people in his life who he loved as if they were his own.
Bob was a beloved husband for the best 39 years to his life long friend Vivian (Robinson) Conti. Brother of Krissy Conti, of West Palm Beach, FL. Loving father, to Natalie Conti, (Jonathan Pierce) of Maple Shade NJ; Danielle (Conti) Shrader, (Max Shrader) of Lake Worth, FL; and Bobby and (Kailyn Vitullo) Conti of Riverside, NJ; Cherished Pop Pop to Talon P., Adalei C. and Baby Shrader. Uncle to Andrew Yusko, Breeanna (Yusko) Garcia, Christin Yusko and Emma Lee Shaughnessy. Bob was blessed to be considered “dad” to Joe Kelly, (Ashley Mullen) and Pop Pop to Shea K., of Burlington Twp. He was the best dog dad to Tyson and Matilda, and Pop Pop to Butter, Taz and Kemosabe.A Dead Head to the END!
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Saturday, August 2nd 9-11 AM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade NjFuneral service will follow at 11AM. A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held at a local residence following the services. Please dress casually and join us in wearing bright colors or your favorite sports or NASCAR gear to honor Bob’s love for sports NASCAR and the Grateful Dead.
