Robert Bailey Crawford Sr., age 85, of Oxnard, CA, passed away at his home on Monday, November 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. Robert was born on January 15, 1940, in Laconia, TN to loving parents William and Ruth Crawford. He was one of 12 children, William Jr., Baby Girl Crawford, Ruth, Mary Ellen, Olivia, Ettie Pearl, Percy, Kathalean, Ailen, Edna and Agnes. Robert grew up in Laconia where he attended local schools, played multiple sports and was in the graduating class of 1958 at Fayette County High School in Somerville, TN. He went on to enlist in the National Guard, and the National Guard Reserves; he was transferred to Bakersfield and later to Oxnard, where he was honorably discharged. While in Bakersfield attending the First Presbyterian Church, Robert met and married his loving wife, Loretta (Bagby) Crawford. They had five children, Debra, Robert Jr., David, Catherine and Timothy. Together, they enjoyed raising their children, going on family camping trips, cross-country trips, cruises and participating in many extra-curricular activities with their children and grandchildren.

Despite Robert's many responsibilities, he always made time for God, his family and their many activities. Robert was a hard-working dedicated man; he spent over 66 years working as a bricklayer-masonry contractor and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local #4, for 66 years and 9 months. Robert and Loretta have been devoted members of the First Presbyterian Church in Oxnard for over 60 years where Robert served as a Deacon on the Board of Deacons, Usher Coordinator and an Elder on Session. He also served on the Building and Grounds committee where he used his masonry skills to build block walls, a barbecue, an addition to the Sunday school building, and a water fountain. Robert served as the Vineyard Ave Water Board President for several years; he was a 4-H Leader, Cub Scout Master, Baseball coach and Rio Mesa High School band chaperone.

Robert was a family man who lived his life with integrity, kindness, honesty, a sense of humor and a generous heart. He found immense joy in attending his grandchildren's sporting events, having family gatherings, and was always helping those in need.

Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loretta; his 5 children, Debra (Dave), Robert Jr. (Deanna), David, Catherine and Timothy; his 2 sisters Mary Ellen (Victor), Edna (Larry), sister-in-law Janet, brother-in-law Stan, his 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews throughout the US.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ruth, his sisters, Baby Girl Crawford, Kathalean, Ailen, Olivia, Ruth, Ettie Pearl and Agnes, his brothers William Jr., and Percy, his son-in-law Arthur Jr., daughter-in-law Cristy and his grandson Steven Robert Crawford.

Robert left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him; he will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the exceptional caregivers from Assisted Home Health and Hospice, Andrea, Beatrice, and Cynthia, for their compassion and unwavering care of Robert.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Oxnard, 850 Ivywood Drive, 93030.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22, 2025, 12:30 PM. Service will be officiated by Pastor Mickey Fenn from the Frist Presbyterian Church of Oxnard.
