Mathews Funeral HomeRobert S. (Bob) Croak, 85, of Albany, GA passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. John LaGrange will officiate. Visitation will follow the services at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westhope Cemetery in Westhope, North Dakota at a later date.
Bob was born in Chicago, Il. and was a mechanical engineer. He was a co-owner and founder of Shamrock Mechanical. He loved working in the yard and taking care of his plants. Antiquing and estate sales were a weekly routine for Bob and Norma. He went on yearly fishing trips to Canada with his family and friends. Being a veteran, he was very interested in US history. General George S. Patton was a figure he followed closely. He has a vast collection of Lionel trains. He loved old war movies and western films, especially when starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Bob liked fast cars... and even his faster woman, his wife (Norma Jean). He was also an avid collector of old guns.
He loved any opportunity to entertain his friends and family. He would play old Bobby Darin and Hank Williams records while making sure every glass and belly was filled. He loved to travel and make sure to stop at every antique store on the way. He would share stories of his travels of Chicago, North Dakota, and all the way down to Georgia.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Thomas Croak and Betty Amelda St. Denis Croak, sister, Maureen Danks, and brother-in-law, James Danks and step-son Victor Stoner.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Croak, children, Karalee Manning, Rebecca LeRoy, Heide Fallin (Todd), step-children, Bobby Stoner, Phil Stoner (Lynn), Victor, Dara Downs, siblings, Judith Garlick (Jack), Patrick Croak (Carol), Michael Croak (Judith), grandchildren, Kristi Soto, Austin Schmidt, Sharon Otos , Colton Schmidt, Josie Brown, Meaghan Giles, Shelbi LeRoy, Savannah Thottichira, Derek LeRoy, great-grandchildren, Mikayla Koney, Victor Koney, Gabriel Soto, Hope Soto, Aria Otos, Kinley Otos, Finley Schmidt, Charlie Schmidt, Hazel Schmidt, Solomon Schmidt, Dallas Brown and Elijah Giles and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials in memory of Robert S. (Bob) Croak to, National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA, 20190.
