Robert Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory - Newark on Sep. 7, 2022.
Robert E. "Davis" Davis, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
Born in Los Angeles, CA, on July 8, 1948, Davis was the son of the late James and Dolores (Faria) Davis. He made his career as an IT technician for the Unemployment Tax Advisory.
Davis enjoyed playing handball, riding motorcycles, sailing, yoga, and refereeing football, among many other hobbies and interests. He was an avid cigar roller, and he shared his rolling tutorials on social media, where his videos received millions of views from people all around the world. He made countless trips, both by land and by sea, across North America accompanied only by his motorcycle or his self-built sailboat. To his family, he will always be a true "renaissance man"; someone who possesses a plethora of indispensable knowledge and talent in many different areas. Furthermore, he never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge with others, friends and strangers alike. He was always eager to help anyone who needed help and he always did so with humility and a quick and witty sense of humor. Anyone who knew Davis, knew he lived his life to the absolute fullest.
Davis was preceded in death by his step-son, Christopher Greenleaf. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Cynthia (Coates) Greenleaf-Davis; step-children, Michelle Cotton, and Heather Bunner; siblings, Collette Howell, Helen Davis, Patricia White, Andrea Yaeger, and Edith Hall; nieces, Nichole Sedlinieck, Jacqueline Yaeger, and Elizabeth Yaeger; 9 step-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
All services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Davis' memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or by clicking here.

Bub, I miss you often.
You were my go to guy for most of my unusual questions, as you were a trove of trivial info.
When we were young, I thought you were the smartest guy in the world.
You taught me how to tell time, buy making me learn.
You would lick my sandwiches and take them to eat when I said, "EWWWW".
I asked you once where you got the nickname, "Bub", your answer was I was the only one who called you that...so you will forever be Bub to me. I love you and miss my brother.

My deepest condolences.

I exchanged thoughts and opinions about motorcycles with him. He had an Indian and I belonged to the Finnish Guzziclub. He was very sure of his opinions but always matter-of-fact.

You can sense personality even from a distance.

Walk with the gods.

I "knew" Davis through cigar social media. Always clever with the keyboard, he was lively and well liked in our circle. I loved his rolling videos. The "ccom" crew will miss him immensely.

I only knew Davis from his emails when I ordered cigars. My wife and I waited with excitement for his exciting clever and witty messages about to what others consider the shipping process. I think it was after my first order that he called me regarding something and I could hear his warmth intelligence and curiosity in his voice. We will miss him. To his loved ones, thanks for sharing him and I´m hope your happy memories diminish the grief quickly.
