Robert Lee "Bob" Davis, 85, of Murphy, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, while surrounded by family.
He was a native of Monaca, Pa.
He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and was stationed at Fort Bragg.
Bob began a career in real estate and later co-founded Dor-Lin Properties in Beaver County, Pa., and two successful restaurants, The Cimmaron, in the Pittsburgh area.
In 1985, he moved to Tampa, Fla., where he met his lovely wife, Judith. There, Bob worked as the sales manager for AAA.
Bob and Judith then moved to Murphy in 2000, where Bob worked locally for Cherokee County Transit, which he loved and Harrah's Casino.
He was a past parishioner of Murphy First Baptist Church and current parishioner of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
He enjoyed spending time outside and could build most anything with his hands. Serving the Lord and others, including the community and his church was his passion.
He was the son of the late Chalmers and Martha Stewart Davis. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Eugene Davis.
Surviving are his wife, "his everything," Judith Ralston Davis of Murphy, N.C.; one daughter, Nicole Knepp and husband Terry of Hopewell, Pa.; one son, Mark Davis and significant other Renee of Tampa, Fla.; two stepsons, Robert Christopher Dolphin and significant other Erika of Portland, Ore., and Paul Ralston Dolphin and significant other Sheila of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Pastor Gail Davis of Zelienople, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Derreberry officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by Hayesville VFW Post 6812, Hayesville Legion Post 532 and Murphy American Legion Post 96. Pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Paul Dolphin, Lindsay Davis, Matt Schneidt, Charlie Spence and Austin Kisselburg.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Robert Lee "Bob" Davis to Four Seasons Hospice Foundation, 211 North Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
