Robert De Arman Obituary

Published by Heritage Florence Funeral Home from Oct. 11 to Oct. 20, 2013.
Robert Benn DeArman, Sr., was born April 29, 1933, along with twin sister, Freddia Lynn, in Lamesa, Texas, to John Albert and Myrtle Gandy DeArman. Robert graduated from high school in Rising Star, Texas, in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in Korea. He returned home in 1954, honorably discharged and a decorated serviceman. After his time overseas, Robert began his long time career in law enforcement. His first job was a security officer in a security business with his three brothers. Following this, he became an officer with the Arizona State Highway Patrol. It was during this time he met the love of his life, his beautiful Patricia, who was working at a café where he patrolled. Robert and Patricia were married on March 4, 1956, and raised four children (spouses listed) -Elizabeth, Robert (Cassie), Terri (Robert), and Clint (Candice). Robert and Patricia were also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Robert's last position was to serve as Justice of the Peace; he was elected for three terms, although out of medical necessity retired during his third term. Robert had wonderful friends in his life, and was loved and respected by many, as he loved and respected them right back. With his compassion and his love for people, as well as his ability to tell a great story, he touched many lives, and will be greatly missed. Robert was preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 56 years; his beloved grandson Robert Ben DeArman, III; three brothers (John Albert, Clint, and Coy) and four sisters (Gladys, Opal, Florence, and Freddia); nephew Robert Dwayne Wilson; and parents Myrtle and John Albert DeArman.
