Robert "Rob" Dean

Robert Nelson "Rob" Dean, 65, of Louisville passed away on November 29, 2025, shortly after the televised Michigan vs OSU football game.
As the youngest of four children, he was born on November 1, 1960, in Parma, Ohio to the late Leon R. Dean and Jean Marie Seeley Dean. Rob was a graduate of North Royalton High School in OH and received his Bachelor's in political science from Cleveland State University, the "Harvard of the Midwest", as he was wont to say.
He was a past master of his Masonic Lodge, a member of the Kosair Shrine Temple, and a longtime member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Rob spent years as a member of the Booster Club, coaching boy's baseball, boy's volleyball, as well as serving as Athletic Director and Awards Chair. Rob was a huge MLB fan and an avid supporter of the Cincinnati Reds.
Rob had a deep passion for politics and government, always staying informed and eager to discuss the issues shaping the world around him. His love of Trivia made him a walking encyclopedia and able to recall many dates, facts and historical moments with ease. Whether debating policy, sharing an interesting piece of history, or simply answering a question no one else could, he brought energy, curiosity, and insight to every conversation.
Rob is survived by his wife of 32 + years, Kelly Dean; their son, Trevor Dean (Rachel) and new addition, baby Callum; Kelly's three children, Theresa Densford (Mark) and their two children, Emma and Brady Densford; Michael Dockter, and Ryan Dockter (Sharon). Rob Dean's surviving siblings are Virginia Plush, Charles Dean (Clare), Philip Dean, plus two nieces and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be held at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, at 1395 Girard Drive on Saturday December 20, 2025, Visitation 12:30 pm with the service at 1:30 pm. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews is in charge of the arrangements.
